Summer
During the summer months, Shoshone people would travel around Southern Idaho, Wyoming, and Northern Utah. Summer months were also a time where Shoshone people would gather seeds, berries, and nuts. Summer was also a time for making new materials and dwellings. The summer months provided ample time to make new items and gather materials needed during the cold half of the year.
Also, summer was a time of gathering, ceremony, and celebration. Dances and other community activities occurred. Western Shoshone dances like the Bear Dance would have been a common occurrence. Today, Pow Wows have been a new way to connect and share with other Native and Shoshone people. Often times they begin in late Spring and last throughout the Summer.
