The fall is a time of gathering, hunting, and harvesting in preparation for the winter months ahead. Traditionally, people would go out to gather pine nuts, chokecherries, elderberries, and other medicines and foods. Hunting would include rabbit drives, deer, elk and other animals that could be utilized for their furs and hides.
